    Terms and Conditions

    The below Terms and Conditions apply to all items on our site. Please read them carefully before you order. We reserve the right to change our terms and conditions at any time. Any changes we make in our Terms and Conditions will take effect on from the date they are posted.

    Refunds and Exchanges

    Each one of our items of clothing and accessories is handmade from scratch, often from a very limited supply of vintage or one-off fabric, so that most items are unique.

    If you have purchased one of our ready-to-wear garments and it doesn’t fit, you can return this garment for an exchange or full refund (minus any postage & packaging costs) within 14 days of the garment being received by you. We require that you email us at  info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk within 7 days of the garment being received by you if you wish to exchange or return your garment.

    Many of our items of clothing can also be made to order in your choice from the fabrics that we offer or from fabric that you supply. Unfortunately we cannot accept returns or offer refunds on any ‘design your own’ or bespoke items but where possible we will attempt to alter the garment if required (there may be extra costs for alterations & postage). Therefore we encourage you to take a moment to make sure that you are completely happy before placing your ‘design your own’ / bespoke order.

    *If your item arrives damaged or defected please get in touch immediately to let us know. We will ask you to return it to us and will do everything we can to come to an agreeable arrangement. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for your item 30 days after it has been sent to you.

    Payment Plans

    Ready to wear payment plan orders

    Split the cost of your ready to wear garment into payments across 2-3 months with our payment plan. Your item(s) will be sent to you in the post when the final payment has been received.

    Please note: Orders placed via payment plans are non-refundable. Offers & discounts are not applicable for payment plan purchases.

    If you receive your ready to wear item and decide it’s not quite right please contact us via info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk and we will offer to alter the garment.

    If you wish to return your ready to wear garment we will send you a store credit coupon code that can be used against a future purchase when we have received the item back in perfect condition. This coupon code will be valid for up to 6 months. Any damage to the returned garment will remove your right to store credit.

    Important: If you do not make one of your payments we will contact you. If we do not hear from you and do not receive the payment within 14 days of contacting you we can no longer reserve the garment for you and any payments you have already made will be transferred into store credit to be used within 6 months of the date of the missed payment.

    If you have not used your store credit within the first five months of this period we will contact you to remind you of your store credit expiry date.

    We cannot offer extensions or renewals of store credit; if you do not use your store credit within the 6 month validity period you will lose your credit. By placing an order with a payment plan you are consenting to these terms & conditions.

    We require that you read, sign and send us a copy of your Payment Plan contract within 7 days of requesting a payment plan with us. your garment will be out on hold for you for these 7 days. (If we do not receive your signed contract within this time frame we will release your reserved garment back into our online shop.) When we have received your signed contract we will send you instructions on how to make your payments.

    Design your own payment plan orders

    Split the cost of your design your own garment into payments across 2-3 months with our payment plan. Your item(s) will be sent to you in the post when the final payment has been received.

    Please note: Design your own orders are non-refundable. Offers & discounts are not applicable for payment plan purchases.

    If you receive your design your own item and decide it’s not quite right please contact us via info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk and we will happily offer to alter the garment.

    You do not have to choose your fabric at the time of placing your order but you must choose and reserve your fabric with us before you make your final payment.

    Important: If you do not make one of your payments we will contact you. If we do not hear from you and do not receive the payment within 14 days of contacting you we can no longer reserve your chosen fabric and any payments you have already made will be transferred into store credit to be used within 6 months of the date of the missed payment.

    Delivery

    We hand make our clothing and accessories. All the ready-to-wear items have a 1-3 (business days) processing time before postage.

    ‘Design your own’ garments and accessories are created according to your measurements/requirements and therefore have a 2-3 week processing time before postage.

    I’d like my items quickly

    If you need a quick order feel free to get in touch with your size, and we’ll be happy to guide you to what we have in stock.

    ‘Design your own’ garments take 2-3 weeks to create from the date of ordering. If you need a quick custom order garment for an occasion please get in touch with your size, preferred garment type and preferred colours or prints and we will provide you with fabric options and an updated quote for your fast-track custom order.

    Postage

    We offer free shipping worldwide.

    We ship worldwide via Royal Mail.

    Standard Shipping:

    UK orders are sent Royal Mail First Class Signed For, which should arrive in the next 1-2 working days. Each order has a tracking number which will be sent to you when the item has been posted.

    E.U orders are sent via International Standard mail, which Royal Mail recommends will take between 3-5 working days.

    International orders are sent via International Standard mail, which Royal Mail recommends will take between 5-10 working days.

    Special Delivery:

    We always have a Proof of Postage for every order we send.

    Every UK order is sent via Royal Mail First Class Signed For – if you would prefer your item to be sent via Special Delivery or via courier please get in touch before you place your order for an updated shipping quote.

    Please note that unless otherwise requested we do not send any EU or International orders through the Special Delivery or Tracked & Signed For services. This means your order will not have a tracking number. If you would like to organise a different way of shipping your items, please get in touch before you order and we will send you a updated shipping quote.

    We cannot be held responsible for items lost in the post, but we will always try to help.

    Please make sure your address is correct and up to date. We cannot be held responsible for items sent to the wrong address.

    Purchasers are responsible for any duties and taxes levied at the point of entry into a destination country.

    Order cancellation

    If for any reason you decide to cancel your order of ready-to-wear items before we have sent it, please write to let us know and we will send you a full refund. Cancellation is not available for ‘design your own’ or bespoke items.

    Cancellation by Us

    We reserve the right to cancel your order if we have insufficient stock to deliver the items you have ordered, or if an item has been listed at an incorrect price due to a typo. If either of these events occur we will be in touch as soon as possible to offer you an agreeable solution.
